video card prob.help.pls.....
hi. i recently bought a chaintech video card 256mb 6600.
only problem is, is that it wouldn't work.
it said that it needs a req. of 800mhz. <---- problem
it also reqs. intel pent 3 or higher at the 800mhz<-----problem
well my question is what is the problem with my comp.
my processor is only a intel celeron. i didn't think that could be the problem cause its 2.4ghz, but has a ramdac of 400mhz.
now i looked some of this up cause i'm not very computer savy. there was this thing called fsb which i didn't really know about. Is this what the 800mhz req. comes in? if so then thats the reason.
pls.help...thank you in advance.

What are your system's full specs? We need CPU + speed, motherboard model, BIOS, etc...

really....i dont know them.lol. told you i wasn't a computer wiz.
does all those things really need to be taken into concideration.
my cuz made the comp so i'm not sure of what in it. i looked at the req. for the video and my comp(using run:dxdiag) showed that i would have met all of them but the intel 3 which i am asking bout in the original post.
anyways. does anyone know if the speed req on the card means the 2.4 ghz or the ramdac/fsb? cause thats really what i think the problems in.

Ok, your card requires a processor of at least 800mhz, thats the speed of the core, now you said you have a 2.4ghz(2400mhz) that means your processor can more than handle it, it's got nothing to do with FSB thats not important.
What exact error messages are you getting???

o that. the moniter doesn't even read the signal. so basically the moniter is blank and yes it is compatable with the vid card.
atm though i wanted to get the card replaced by newegg, but they ran out of stock or its been discontinued so the refunded me instead :-( .
so does anyone know a vid card thats at least 128mb, agp, >5700 nvidia
or >8500 ati. and yes i'm trying to run BF2.

I'll take a shot....do you have the correct monitor cable connected? In other words: Is the monitor set to the cable that you have connected it with? On my monitor for example I have to make sure my DVI connection is set on the monitor or it will be a blank screen.

When you installed that card did you plus the power adapter into the card itself. Newer cards are requiring power directly from the power suppy. I had a problem like that when I first installed this x800xl, I forgot to plug the power adapter in and it only gave me about 10fps in games like Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (after plugging in I got about 130fps)

aaa.. first off theres only two plugs for the monitor, the power and the cpu, so i dont think i could have screwed that up.
secondly there was no power adapter, so i dont think it was that.
i dont know the bios or anything nut heres what i got
windows xp pro sp2 version 2002 (5.1, Build 2600)
512mb
suposed 400watt power supply maybe 350
intel celeron 2.4 ghz
when i use run: dxdiag it says BIOS: default system BIOS
system model P4V88
radeon 9200SE agp (yuck i know, never quote" never" upgraded my comp b4)
internal dac: 400mhz
~64mb
current display mode: 1152 x 864 (32 bit) (75Hz)
i know the card sucks, thats why i'm upgrading so i can play bf2. right now i'm buying a rosewill 6600 256mb and 128 bit. basically the same mods as the defective one i bought, but hopefully it will work on my comp.
